Rebels killed

• Two PLFI rebels were killed during an encounter with security forces in the forests adjoining Rania thana in Khunti district and Gudri thana in West Singhbhum district, around 120km from Ranchi, on Tuesday.

NIA remand

• The court of principal judicial commissioner Navneet Kumar allowed NIA on Tuesday to take surrendered Naxalite Ku-ndan Pahan and aides Riparu, alias Santosh, and Rammohan Singh, on seven-day police remand for questioning them on their alleged role in the murder of ex-Tamar MLA Ramesh Singh Munda.

Uniform scam

• A special CBI court completed hearing of three-decades old uniform scam case (RC 46/PAT) worth Rs 9 lakh on Tuesday. The court will deliver its judgment next week.

Rapist father

• One Zahira Khatoo lodged an FIR against her husband Mumtaz Ansari at Jainagar thana, 25km from Ranchi, alleging that he raped their daughter on September 8 following which she killed herself.

Appeal

• Water resources minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary on Tuesday sought Odisha's help to prepare detailed project reports for the interstate river linking of Shankh and South Koel and South Koel and Subernarekha.
