Jamshedpur, Jan. 8: The state Assembly estimate committee today expressed its dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work of projects undertaken by government departments in East Singhbhum.
Headed by Gandey (Giridih) MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed of the Congress, the panel was reviewing government projects at Circuit House.
The slow pace of projects under road and building construction, water resources, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), minor irrigation, rural development and rural engineering organisation (REO) earned criticism.
“I am not satisfied with the reports submitted by these departments. Many projects are incomplete though they began in fiscal 2008-09,” Ahmed said.
Sarfaraz said the panel asked departments to submit details of projects executed in past three fiscal years, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13, in a proforma. “Some have not even submitted the reports,” he said.
Details required included project name, the year it started, estimated cost, time of completion and the final cost at the time it ended. In case of delays or incomplete projects, departments need to submit revised estimates.
