Ranchi, Dec. 22: City police have failed to make a breakthrough in the abduction of a B.A Part I student of Gossner College from his residence at Harmu Housing Colony last evening.
Eight unidentified Bolero-borne criminals kidnapped the youth after calling him out of the house.
City S.P, Ashish Batra, said he expects positive results within a day. “I have personally visited the suspected hideouts. I expect results in the next 24 hours” he said.
An official at Argora Police station said the department is trying to solve the case as early as possible. “We had intercepted many suspected blue-coloured Bolero vehicles of similar description, but none of them belonged to the kidnappers,” he said.
The family said they were yet to get any information from their son’s abductors. “We were expecting phone calls giving some indication of Rakesh's welfare. But, we have not received any call,” they said.
Residents of Harmu Housing Colony suspected a money dispute behind the abduction. “The victim's brother, Dilip Singh, has a stone crusher. His father is a CCL employee. There must be some money dispute,” they said.
Rakesh's brother, however, denied any dispute.
