Jamshedpur: From writing poems when he was all of 13 years to giving lyrics for Bollywood songs, Jamshedpur boy Protiqe Mojoomdar has indeed come a long way.

The 38-year-old former adman, who is currently based in Mumbai, is probably thanking his lucky stars for getting an opportunity to work with ace musical trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy for an upcoming Nila Madhab Panda-directed movie titled Halkaa.

Protiqe has composed the entire music album for the movie, which is slated to release on September 7 and stars Ranvir Shorey and Paoli Dam in lead roles.

"I am super excited. What's more special is that one of my songs khwahishein has been sung by Shankar Mahadevan. The album has four songs and each one is of different genre. There's a qawwali, a Punjabi song and also a sufi number," said Protiqe, who completed his Class X from Don Bosco, Patna, and Class XII from Delhi Public School, Ranchi.

A zoology graduate from Hansraj College, University of Delhi, Protiqe has also worked in the advertising field for over 10 years before he set up his own content development firm Handyyman in Mumbai.

Originally a resident of Mango, Protiqe shifted to Mumbai in 2011.

In the same year Protiqe wrote the lyrics of the song Zindagi Aisi Waisi sung by Papon from the highly acclaimed movie I Am Kalam. Besides, he wrote the lyrics for films like Kaun Kitney Paani Mein and Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid, both directed by Nila Madhab Panda.

Protiqe is also working on the lyrics of the music album for Ishqeria, a film starring Richa Chaddha and Neil Nitin Mukesh. "I will continue to write lyrics for several songs and would definitely like to work on movie screenplay as well," he signed off.
