DPS Chas in Bokaro organised a felicitation ceremony titled Abhyuday for the session 2020-21 to applaud the achievements of the school students who excelled in academics and brought laurels to the school at the state and national level.
The function was which was held on a virtual platform was graced by the Chief Mentor of School Hemlata S Mohan as the Chief Guest and Officiating Principal- Deepali Bhuskute.
The event commenced with lighting of the lamp by guests. Afterwards students presented a welcome song which was followed by the school song.
The welcome song was written and composed by Subhojit Mishra (Music Teacher). Subsequently, the song ‘Aao Sajda Kare Hum Aman Ke Liye’ stole the heart of everyone with its melody. The students also presented an act through dance on ‘Shiv Panchakshar Stotram’ highlighting the spiritual knowledge that the human body is made up of five elements, Prithvi Tattva (Earth element), Jal Tattva (Water factor), Agni Tattva (Fire element), Vayu Tattva (Air factor) and Akasha Tattva (Sky/Space element) that received a thunderous applause from the audience.

In the felicitation ceremony, 72 students were awarded gold medals, blue blazer, scholar badges, proficiency prizes and special prestigious awards. The best house trophy was won by Chenab house.
Atharv Akshat of Class VII and Tiara of Class III were declared the ‘School Topper’ and received the Chairman’s Gold Medal for the ‘Best Scholar’ and Chairman’s Gold Medal for the Best Achiever respectively.
Sreijan Sinha of Class XI was awarded Pro Vice Chairman’s Gold Medal for Head Boy while Pragya Pushkar of Class XI got Principal’s Gold Medal for Head Girl. Hemlata S Mohan Trophy for All Round best student was conferred upon Aalaap Gorai of Class IV in the Junior Group and APJ Abdul Kalam Trophy for All round best student was bestowed on Sreijan Sinha in the Senior Group.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohan congratulated the students for their meticulous performance and motivated them. She guided the students to tread on the path of sincerity and perseverance.
She said, “Every child is blessed with a unique talent and they have the ability to change the world.”
Officiating Principal of host DPS Chas, Deepali Bhuskute, appreciating the diligence and dedication of students acknowledged the support and hand holding of the parents. She also emphasized that school believes in fostering ethics and cultural values which is an integral part of holistic development.
