Ranchi, Aug. 3: An easier and online method of monitoring pollution caused by factories has arrived in the state.

Reshoo-e-System, a Chennai-based company, today launched the Online Dust Analyser — a machine that can analyse the pollution level of industrial emission and send details to the management via the Internet.

If the pollution level is more than the permissible limit, the machine will also issue a warning online.

Developed by Reshoo-e-System, the machine is being marketed by Ranchi-based Horizon Softech in the state.

“After Tamil Nadu, we decided to launch the machine in Jharkhand as this state has a large number of industries. Almost all industrial units in Tamil Nadu have installed Online Dust Analysers,” said Yuwan Kumar, a manager of Reshoo-e-System, adding that the device has the approval of US Environment Protection Agency.

The two companies, in association with the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB), today gave a live demonstration of the machine in front of industry representatives. The machine is to be fitted to the chimney of the plants. The device will analyse the dust particles continually and store the data. As the machine will be connected to the Internet, the management can get the data any time.

“If the JSPCB has the password of the machine installed in a particular industry, it can also see the data online,” said Abhishek Kumar, director of Horizon Softech.

Each machine costs Rs 4.75 lakh. One machine can be fitted with a chimney having a radius of 0-12 metre. The plants will have to install as many machines as the number of chimneys to arrive at the total level of pollution.

The JSPCB has issued directives to all industries, requesting them to opt for the system. However, chief environment analyst of JSPCB R.N. Kashyap clarified that it depended on the managements whether they would buy the machine.

“The industries can go for any brand and need not stick to the one produced by Reshoo-e-System,” he said.

Representatives of well over 30 industries based in Jharkhand attended the live demonstration programme today. However, no industry has booked the new machine yet.
