Jamshedpur, Aug. 22: The decomposed body of a 45-year-old man was found lying beneath a bush near Golmuri Golf Ground this morning.

The body was discovered by a local resident, who informed the police later on.

The police recovered the body and sent it to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College and Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

So far, the post-mortem reports have revealed that the deceased died out of a serious head injury.

?There was a grievous head injury. Besides, there were several internal injuries throughout the body, including the chest,? said a source in the forensic department, adding that they all suggested that it was a case of murder.

The police sources added that the deceased was a 5-feet-8-inch tall man and was of strong built. He wore a steel kara on his left hand.

When contacted, the deputy superintendent of police (city), Rajiv Ranjan, said they were yet to receive a copy of the post-mortem report.

Ranjan added that he suspected this to be a case of murder, with the body being dumped in the particular place later.

?Unknown assailants must have dumped the body after kiling him somewhere else. We are waiting for the post-mortem report to reveal any clues about the victim?s whereabouts,? said the city deputy superintendent of police.

When asked, the police officer stated the state of decomposition indicates that the body must have been lying at the golf ground for the past 10 to 12 days. It had decomposed beyond recognition.

The body was found by a local resident. In this connection, a case of unnatural death has been registered with the Golmuri police station.
