Jamshedpur: The kingpin of a gang involved in the abduction and murder of a 45-year-old man at Kadma here on March 21 was arrested on Friday.
Sonu Singh, originally from Bihar's Bhojpur who stayed at Bhatia Bustee at Kadma, was picked up from his residence for the murder of Jawahar Lal, a property dealer, who also lived in the same locality.
Police had earlier arrested four gang members but Sonu managed to evade arrest for two months. Five gang members are also still at large.
City SP Prabhat Kumar said Lal had taken Rs 2 lakh from Sonu to help him buy two kathas at Chaas in Bokaro. Although a year had passed, Lal neither got him the land nor did he return the money.
"Angry with Lal, Sonu and his gang abducted him from his home on March 18 and killed him at Rajnagar in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on March 21," said Kumar.
