Budding techies who work hard, play hard. BIT-Mesra, gearing up for its three-day technical fest Pantheon on Friday, can vouch for it.
The theme for the seventh edition of the event, which will be held on an intra-college level, is "Internet of Things".
And, the event has already netted 80 teams comprising eight students each from various engineering streams. They will prove their mettle in events such as robotics, coding, electronics, mechanics, chemicals and manufacturing.
For budding engineers, there will be a total of 48 technical events and around five cultural events like music night, band night, drama night, among others.
Last year 40 teams had participated in 30-odd events.
Sampat Kalunokonda, coordinator and a third-year IT engineering student, said they were organising the technical festival for the last six years.
"With each passing year, the number of participants is increasing, which shows the event has gained popularity among budding techies," he said. "Though the event is only meant for BIT-Mesra, students are always exploring innovative ideas in various technical fields," he added.
Apart from technical events, he informed, there will be plethora of fun-filled activities such as gaming events, quiz, debates and guest lectures.
Vice chancellor of the institute Manoj Kumar Mishra will be chief guest.
Governor-cum-chancellor of state universities Droupadi Murmu is likely be the guest of honour, though Raj Bhavan is yet to confirm it.
