Many trains cancelled on Bengal lockdown days

Neighbouring state to observe shutdowns on August 5, 8, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 31

It’s best to check before making any urgent travel plans, for, South Eastern Railway has announced the cancellation and short termination of several trains in August during lockdown days in neighbouring Bengal.

The West Bengal government has declared lockdowns on August 5, 8, 16 ,17, 23 ,24 and 31 over rising cases of Covid-19.

The 02021 Howrah-Barbil Janshatabdi Special leaving Howrah on August 5, 8, 16, 17, 23, 24 and will remain cancelled.

The 02022 Barbil-Howrah Janshatabdi Special leaving Barbil on August 5, 8, 16,17, 23 , 24 and 31 will also remain cancelled. The train travels via Tatanagar and several other stations of South Eastern Railway's Kharagpur and Chakradharpur divisions.

The 02245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Special leaving Howrah on August 5, 8, 16 and 23 will remain cancelled.

The 02246 Yesvantpur-Howrah Special leaving Yesvantpur on August 7, 10, 16,18, 23,25 and 30 will also remain cancelled. The train travels via several stations of Kharagpur division.

The 02214 Patna-Shalimar Special leaving Patna on August 4, 15, 22 and 28 will be cancelled.

The 02213 Shalimar-Patna Special leaving Shalimar on August 5, 17, 24 and 31 will also remain cancelled.

The 02809 Mumbai CSMT-Howrah Special, scheduled to leave Mumbai CSMT on August 14 and 21m will be short terminated at Rourkela, instead of Howrah.

The 02810 Howrah-Mumbai CSMT Special, scheduled to leave Howrah on August 5, will originate from Rourkela at 2.11am on August 6, instead of Howrah. Hence, the service of this train from Howrah to Rourkela will remain cancelled on August 5.

Stops for several trains moving in Kharagpur, Ranchi and Chakradharpur divisions have been withdrawn due to the series of lockdown in West Bengal later this month.

Officials at Garden Reach, the Calcutta based headquarters of South Eastern Railway, said the circular on cancellation and short termination of trains had been provided to all the railway stations under four divisions, including Ranchi and Chakradharpur.

Passengers have been told to cooperate and check with the railways before travel plans.
