The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Central Command, Lt-General Om Prakash Nandrajog, Ati Vishist Seva Medal and Vishsit Seva Medal, visited the 23 Infantry Division, which falls under his jurisdiction, on February 3. Nandrajog was on a three-day visit to the state capital. It was his first visit after he took over the post in January. His wife Kiran, Central Command Army Wives? Welfare Association (AWWA) president accompanied the GOCC. Nandrajog also met Governor Syed Sibte Razi.
Student-teacher talk
The Army Wives? Welfare Association (AWWA) organised a workshop for teachers on ?How to reduce the gap between teachers and students? on February 4. The teachers from the Army School and the Kendriya Vidyalas of both Dipatoli and Namkum took part in the workshop. General Officer-in-Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Major General Dalip Bharadwaj, and AWWA president Renu Bharadwaj addressed the teachers. A teacher from the Delhi Public School was the main speaker.
Cultural camp
A cultural evening and campfire marked the conclusion of the Combined Annual Training Camp of the 2 Jharkhand Air Squadron NCC at the Dipatoli cantonment on February 8. More than 600 cadets from various districts of the state took part in it. While some cadets presented song and dance items during the occasion, others shared their experiences in the camp. It was a 12-day camp for the senior wing cadets, who were mostly from colleges, while the junior wing cadets had a 10-day camp. Sports department secretary N.N. Sinha and civil aviation department secretary Sajal Chakravarty were the chief guests.
GOCC visit
The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOCC) of Army Training Command at Shimla, Lt-General K.S. Jamwal, Ati Vishist Seva Medal, Vishist Seva Medal and Bar, visited the 23 Infantry Division earlier in the month. His wife, AWWA president of Army Training Command, Mala Jamwal also accompanied him during the visit. The General Officer-in-Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Major General Dalip Bharadwaj, welcomed the Jamwals. The Lt-General took over the post of GOCC in October last year. He is also the Colonel Commandant of the Army Aviation Corps.
Green drive
The deputy director of Ordnance Services of 1 Corps, Brigadier S.P.S. Tulse, visited the ordnance unit of the 23 Infantry Division earlier this month. The brigadier, who was on a two-day visit to the state capital, took time out from his official engagements to plant saplings at the unit and also visited the Indian Lac Research Institute in Namkum.
