Jamshedpur, Sept. 1: Policy holders can look forward to better services as Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has decided to open five satellite offices in the current fiscal.

Today, senior divisional manager of LIC (Jamshedpur division) P. Kumaresan, said the satellite offices would be opened at Chandil, Bundu, Ranchi, Bahragora and Jamshedpur. “The idea of opening new satellite offices is to provide better customer service. Efforts would be made to upgrade the satellite offices gradually into branch offices,” he said.

Kumaresan said that the Ranchi satellite office on Ratu Road would be inaugurated on September 15 and the two satellite offices at Chandil and Bundu opened by the end of this month. The satellite office at Telco in Jamshedpur would start from November.

Apart from depositing premiums, policy holders can also avail other amenities like servicing and renewal of policies and ask for claims at the satellite offices.

At present, the three satellite offices of LIC are operational at Latehar, Lohardaga and Simdega. The insurance company is also introducing another service — enterprise document management system — where the records of policy holders could be assessed by branch offices across the country.

The public sector insurance company is celebrating its 52nd anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations, the Jamshedpur division of the company has lined up various programmes which would be organised throughout this week.

The Insurance Week celebrations were inaugurated by managing director of Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority Nitin Madan Kulkarni at Jeevan Prakash Building in Bistupur this morning.

Kumaresan said several programmes including health camps, blood donation camps and sit-and-draw competition for children would be organised during the week-long celebrations. The Jamshedpur division is also running a relationship renewal programme at all its 19 branches.
