Jamshedpur, Jan. 11: People who want to go in for cosmetic laser surgery do not have to look further because the steel city would soon boast of it.

The cosmetic laser surgery is brought to the city by BR Seva Sadan and K.K. Skin Institute and Research Centre, an advanced skin, hair and cosmetology centre.

For the laser technology three machines would be used namely the Carbon dioxide System (CO2), a surgical laser system for cutting, coagulation and skin resurfacing.

The technology can be used for removal of scars like post acne blisters, chicken pox marks and also to treat pigmented lesions including melasma, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, freckles and lentigines.

The average cost for each sitting will be around Rs 200.

“Our attempt is to provide quality treatment at easy-on-pocket price ,” said R.P. Thakur, dermatologist and cosmetic laser surgeon at BR Seva Sadan, in the press meet at the clinic today.

The advanced Q Switched laser machine would also be used at this centre.

Announcing the arrival of the treatment in city, authorities at the cosmetology centre in Sakchi mentioned that it marks the beginning of a new approach to solving skin problems.

This laser cosmetic surgery is the first centre in Jamshedpur and second in the state of Jharkhand with Ranchi boasting of one.

Skin problems can be sorted out with the help of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) system, which comprises of five different filters for multiple applications. From permanent hair removal to photo rejuvenation which in the long term improves skin texture, acne photo clearance and vascular lesions everything can be treated with the effective use of this machine.

Started in the month of November 2007, the centre hopes to solve the skin related problems of people.

With advanced technologies making steady inroads in the city, many advanced modes of treatment would soon find way at the centre.
