Jamshedpur, May 3: Basera, a city-based welfare organisation in Bistupur working for empowerment of women for over a decade, has decided to come up with a knowledge centre on its premises.
Likely to be operational in the another two or three months time, this centre would serve as a help desk in providing all necessary information to people about Jamshedpur.
“In spite of being a small city, people do not know what’s happening. We thought it would be a good idea to provide them with the information,” said Chandra Sharan, managing trustee of Basera. Once operational, this knowledge centre would have all data base which would be provided as and when people ask for it.
“We always had this dream, but we are now serious,” said Sumathi Muthuraman, chairperson of Basera. They are planning a series of projects for women, like ice-cream making, bakery classes, hair and skin treatment.
