Jamshedpur, May 11: It’s once again job joy at Netaji Subhas Institute of Business Management(NSIBM) at Pokhari, about 15km from the steel city.

The Kolhan University-affiliated management cradle is heading towards cent per cent placement for the second consecutive year with only about a dozen students of the 2009-11 batch yet to get jobs.

The placement season — which kicked off in November, 2010, and will conclude by the end of this month — has seen as many as 83 students getting creamed off till now. Good pay packages only add to the success show.

Officials of NSIBM said like last year, they were looking forward to placing all 95 students. “The profile of the companies taking part in the annual recruitment process has been good. They are from diverse sectors, including banking, finance and of course, core areas,” said Nagendra Kumar, a senior official of NSIBM, who monitors the recruitment drive.

This is the fourth batch of the institute.

The job drive began with electronics major Videocon picking up two students for an annual salary of Rs 4.5 lakh (excluding other perks and emoluments) — the highest so far. Canara Bank followed next. It hired a candidate for a salary of Rs 3 lakh a year.

Two companies — Liliput, a retail major, and Cease Fire, picked up 18 candidates in the first week of May. They offered an annual package between Rs 2.2 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh, excluding perks and emoluments.

The other companies that came calling included 2A Associates, Everron Education Ltd, Kohinoor Steel, Ashok Leyland, Olive Mobile and Sparx Technologies. Geojit BNP Paribas picked up 11 students for an annual package of Rs 2 lakh.

“Three more companies — Star Union Daichi (a leading insurance company of Japan), First Flight and Hyderabad-based Scan Steel — will come headhunting by the end of this month. The last phase of placements has been earmarked for retail, logistics and manufacturing companies,” Kumar said.

Meanwhile, the students of the 2010-12 batch have proceeded for summer internship in various sectors with a minimum stipend of Rs 20,000.
