Jamshedpur: Baharagora MLA and JMM spokesperson Kunal Sarangi on Saturday asked the BJP central leadership to clarify party national president Amit Shah's statement that the Raghubar Das government was following the road map prepared by former chief minister Arjun Munda.

"The people are confused after Shah, during his visit to Ranchi, said the current government was following Munda's road map. However, there is a vast difference between the policies followed during Munda's tenure and now," Sarangi said.

To corroborate his point, the JMM leader showed reporters at Nirmal Bhavan the statements made by the three-time former CM Munda on issues such as tenancy land laws (CNT/SPT Acts) and the recent spate of pathalgadi incidents in Khunti.

"Munda has time and again given statements against the present government's intention of tweaking the land tenancy acts and voiced concern over the growing communication gap between government and the tribals. On pathalgadi, Mundaji has publicly said there was resentment among local people in Khunti against police. There seems to be a contradiction between government action and the stand taken by Munda on these issues. All these have forced us to question if the state government was following its own agenda instead of the road map prepared by Munda as claimed by Shah," Sarangi said.

The JMM leader also claimed that people were doubting the impartiality of DGP D.K. Pandey after his recent statements.

"The DGP, while recently issuing a statement to the media, sounded like a BJP spokesperson by stating sabka sath, sabki suraksha, sabka vikas - yahi hai Raghubar Sarkar (Support, security and progress for all, that's the motto of the Raghubar Das government)'. Pandey has also not contradicted a report published in a Hindi daily in Dhanbad earlier this month that he was planning to contest the next Lok Sabha polls as a BJP candidate," Sarangi alleged.

The JMM leader said all Opposition parties would launch a protest during the next monsoon session of the Assembly on the recent directive of the state school education and literacy department prohibiting intermediate (+2) students from opting for regional languages, apart from the 11 subjects specified by government.

"The state education and literacy department circular on July 11 has asked principals against admitting students opting for regional languages, other than the 11 main subjects. We will be protesting this decision," Sarangi said.
