
Hazaribagh: The three-day Itkhori Mahotsav in Chatra will stress on making visitors aware of the rich cultural heritage of the district.
The mahotsav, which will be held from February 19 to 21 on the premises of Ma Bhadrakali temple, promises to be a cultural extravaganza amid much grandeur and fanfare.
National Award-winning composer Vipin Mishra will perform on the inaugural day followed by performances by flautist Chetan Joshi, Bhajan singer Shahnaz Akhtar and dance troupe MJ5.
"Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu will enthral the audience on the second day along with a Kathak dance performance by a Delhi-based group," said event manager Sanjeev Kumar.
Organisers are also planning to invite vice-president Venkaiah Naidu for the inaugural ceremony.
The foundation stone laying ceremony of a museum, which will house various ancient idols and structures, will also take place on the inaugural day. The state government has sanctioned Rs 4.5 crore for setting up the museum.
Chatra deputy commissioner Jitendra Kumar Singh has further directed organisers to put up signboards across the district indicating temples to visit during the three-day long festival.
