Jamshedpur, March 9: Over 3.30 lakh students will appear for the matriculation and intermediate examinations from 600 centres across the state tomorrow.
According to the Jharkhand Academic Council, 2,26,670 students will appear for the matriculation examination from 448 centres.
In the intermediate science, arts and commerce streams, 1,08,332 students will take the examination from 147 centres across the state.
The matriculation and intermediate examinations are scheduled to conclude on March 19 and April 12 respectively.
The matriculation exam will begin from 10 am and continue till 1 pm. The intermediate examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm. After the board exams are over, students appearing for the intermediate examination will answer the papers in both the sessions.
A senior member of the council, Dineshanand Goswami, said preparations for the smooth conduct of the examinations have been completed. ?We have dispatched the question papers and answer sheets to all the 22 districts depending upon the number of students appearing for the matriculation and intermediate examinations,? said Goswami.
He further said the council has constituted eight teams that will conduct surprise inspections at examination centres to prevent students from cheating.
Goswami said officials of all the districts have been requested to deploy adequate security personnel and magistrates in the examination centres.
Sources in the district education department said 13,966 students will answer the intermediate examination from 15 centres of East Singhbhum. A total of 16,897 students will appear for the matriculation examination from 46 centres in the district.
According to East Singhbhum district officials, necessary arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the examinations. Adequate number of police personnel and magistrates will be deployed in all the centres in the district,? said the officials.
Subdivisional officer Ganesh Prasad said the district administration has issued prohibitory orders around the examination centres. ?According to the prohibitory orders, only examinees, teachers and officials would be allowed to move within 500 meters of the centres,? he said.
Prasad said four constables and one officer, along with a magistrate, will be deployed in all the examination centres. ?Apart from this, over 10 mobile police teams will also be deployed to keep a close watch on the examination centres,? he added.
