Jamshedpur, Aug. 4: It is time for the Marathi community to come together with their share of cultural extravaganza before Ganesh Chaturthi.
“A 10-day cultural fest has been drawn up by the Maharastra Hitkari Mandal to give people a traditional feel,” said secretary Rohini Sathe.
Fun and frolic would begin from the day Lord Ganesha's arrival is announced. Cultural troupes from Nagpur and Raipur will perform plays on social issues. Sushrut Ranade, an eight-year-old expert from Nagpur, will chant religious verses.
Fancy dress and elocution competitions have been planned to keep the festive spirit alive. “In this city we have managed to retain our cultural identity. This year Ganesh Chaturthi will be really big,” announced Sathe.
