Flyover plan discussed

A meeting to discuss construction of a 1.8km flyover from Joraphatak to Bekar Bandh and widening of the road under Gaya railway under-bridge to reduce snarls at Shramik Chowk in the heart of the town was held at the divisional railway manager's office here on Monday.

Dhanbad: A meeting to discuss construction of a 1.8km flyover from Joraphatak to Bekar Bandh and widening of the road under Gaya railway under-bridge to reduce snarls at Shramik Chowk in the heart of the town was held at the divisional railway manager's office here on Monday.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of secretary of road construction department of Jharkhand, Mast Ram Meena, was attended by Dhanbad MP P.N. Singh, MLA Raj Sinha, mayor Chandrashekhar Agarwal, municipal commissioner Manoj Kumar and officials of railways, district administration and civic body.

Though the meeting failed to arrive at a conclusion over the flyover plan, divisional railway manager (DRM) Manoj Krishna Akhauri agreed in principle to the state government's plan to broaden the road below the under-bridge.
