Dhanbad, May 4: Police arrested a youth posing as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer from Maithan here late yesterday evening.
The imposter, who had duped several unemployed youths of Rs 5 lakh, has been identified as Suprabhat Tuddu, a resident of Gogna village under Maithan thana.
However, the kingpin behind the duping act, Rakesh Sharma, who has been running a racket for the last three years from Delhi, is yet to be nabbed.
The city police have informed their Delhi counterparts about Sharma and have sent a team to Delhi to nab him, said deputy superintendent of police Rajiv Ranjan.
Police said that Rakesh, who introduced himself as a joint commissioner of CBI, had met Tuddu at Nirsa on January 1, 2003, and ?appointed? him in the agency.
In December, 2005, Sharma told Tuddu that hundreds of vacancies were coming up in Delhi and if the unemployed youths wanted jobs, they should apply paying Rs 4,000 each.
