“While two of them were on a looting spree, the two other stuck knives to my neck while I was sitting still on the bed. Soon after, I heard my mother-in-law and others knocking on the door desperately. The robbers got nervous and, maybe because they did not know what to do, they lay down on the bed. I tried getting off the bed but was forced to remain there. All of us lay down for about 90 minutes,” she said.

Around 4 am, the woman said, two of the criminals went outside and brought a crowbar and broke open the locker of the steel almirah before fleeing with the gold ornaments and clothes. “First two of them left while two others were still keeping a watch on me. After sometime, they also left and warned me to keep mum,” she added.

Varsity meet: The postgraduate department heads today held a meeting in Ranchi to discuss various stages of the preparation of syllabus. The university NSS coordinator Avinash Chandra Mishra said the department heads have been asked to prepare final copies of the syllabus after taking into account the views of experts.
