Patna: A potato dish made with lots of melted butter, cheese, mayonnaise and spices. How about trying a Oreo Mint Chocochip Mousse, a dessert made with Oreo biscuits with lots of whipping cream, chocolate and mint leaves.

Feeling hungry?

Participants at the MasterChef Magic Party Superhits culinary cookery learnt the gastronomic delights from reality show MasterChef top 10 finalist Priyanka Malik at hotel Maurya on Monday.

The event was organised by Fireflies. Around 30 participants learnt cooking nuances from Priyanka during the three-hour event where she shared her 10 signature recipes.

Cajun Spiced Hasselback Potatoes, Pull Apart Party Bread, Tex Mex Cups, Vietnamese Lettuce Wraps with peanut dip, Imli Mojitos were some of the dishes whose recipes she shared with the participants.

"Those who are on diet to get the right curves but are craving for tasty food, here is a recipe - Vietnamese Lettuce Wraps with Peanut Dip. This can satiate your taste buds while keeping your calorie intake low. The dish is simple. Wrap the lettuce with raw chopped vegetables (carrots, cucumber, julienne, spring onion, handful of crushed peanuts. Add chillies, vinegar, peanut, salt and pepper and seasoning in the raw vegetables before you wrap it in lettuce. Now you can eat it with the peanut dip made with peanut butter, sweet chilli sauce, tamarind paste, sesame seeds, soya sauce, red chillies and spring onion," she said.

She also shared the recipe of Imli Mojitos with the participants. "Muddle the mint leaves with lemon wedges and sugar. Add ice and lemon juice with tamarind paste and sugar syrup. Top it with club soda and garnish with a spring of mint and lemon slices and you get a chilled sweet-and-sour drink best for the summer," added Priyanka.

The MasterChef finalist also gave a few cooking tips.

"Microwave is harmful for cooking because it releases radiation but oven is good. One can use any oil for cooking but the balance is important. If you put high salt in dry vegetables adding lemon juice will balance the taste. Plating is important because you eat with your eyes first. Make sure it plays a good colour game," said Priyanka.

Those who participated in the show were more than happy to learn the dishes from Priyanka.

"The dishes are easy to make and healthy to serve my children at snack time," said Komal Singh, a participant who lived in Patliputra Colony.
