Commerce tops in exam score

Bokaro, May 23: Girls shone in Dhanbad while it was the boys who took the crown here.

Commerce students here overtook science students and broke previous records.

Sidhartha Sinha (DPS, Bokaro) and Manbodh Kumar (Ayappa School) secured 96.2 per cent each to be the joint toppers.

Sidhartha fetched the highest score in accountancy (99). He secured 97 each in mathematics and English, 96 in economics and 92 per cent in business studies.

Manbodh secured 99 per cent in accountancy, 97 in physical education, 95 each in mathematics and 89 in English.

Ajit Kumar Singh of DPS, Bokaro, was adjudged the science topper, with 94.8 per cent, followed by Akshya Kumar, who scored 94.4 per cent.

Among girls, Nupur Jalan (commerce) of DPS, Bokaro, got the highest marks in Bokaro, fetching 94 per cent, followed by Shikha (science) of the same school who fetched 93.4 per cent.

Among school toppers, Nisha Kumari of Chinmaya School scored 92.4 per cent followed by Richa Sinha, who secured 92 per cent.

Manish Kumar topped in Guru Govind Singh Public School with 92.4 per cent marks followed by Jigyasa, who got 90.4 per cent.

Nitish Raj was the topper in Pentacostal School with 91.4 per cent marks followed by Aparna who secured 90.8 per cent.

Nisha Joy of Holy Cross School fetched 92.4 per cent.

However, 74 students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, 15 of Adarsha Vidya Mandir, 15 of Ayappa, six from Guru Govind Singh Public School, four from Pentacostal School and three each from Chinmaya and MGM schools failed in the CBSE Class XII exams.
