Virtual bonding: A grab of the homepage of the second edition of Dux Vox

No wonder the World Wide Web is liberating.

Karim City College’s web magazine www.duxvox.com, born in October 2013 to showcase opinions and creativity of its students, will now invite contributions from youths studying in other institutions of Kolhan University.

The bilingual online publication, which launched its second edition on January 26, now boasts video links and new pages.

Karim City College will soon circulate pamphlets across the city to invite contributions from students interested in writing their heart out on their city, their hangouts, dreams, angst, fun-filled facets of their student lives and so on.

Karim City College students will also reach out www.duxvox.com to students at the upcoming Kolhan University youth fest.

“We have revamped the website. Initially we used to upload pdf files on it, but now the tabs are linked to the pages. We plan to invite writers from other colleges, who might be willing to write but don't get such a platform to air their views. We have decided to circulate the idea in all colleges of the region,” said Neha Tiwari, head of the mass communication department of Karim City College.

Tiwari added that once students from other colleges start sending in entries, a team, comprising two students from each cradle, would be formed to supervise the process.

The college has also decided to add a video link to the website, where netizens will be able to view films and documentaries made by students. The online portal will also boast interviews of renowned personalities.

“We are also planning to introduce the option of sharing articles on Facebook and Twitter so that they go viral,” said Tiwari.

The faculty member added that the magazine aimed to promote team spirit among students by encouraging them to work for a common cause.

“The editorial team of the magazine changes every quarter. Students are free to contribute stories in English and Hindi by the 20th of every month. If found worth publishing, the content is uploaded on the website,” said Tiwari.
