City girl shines in telly talent hunt - Pat from Ismail Darbar, stage show offers pour in

Jamshedpur, Aug. 30: Shraddha Das, the city girl in Zee TV’s popular musical talent hunt Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has earned a ticket to stardom when she managed to impress music director Ismail Darbar with the “rare” tonal quality of her voice.

“Darbar has asked her to meet him at the earliest,” said Ramesh Das, the proud father of Shraddha while addressing newspersons here this evening.

As far as agreement with Zee was concerned, Das said: “To perform in shows in the country and abroad under the banner of the channel we will be signing an agreement with Zee.”

Das also revealed that people were even willing to pay Shraddha Rs 50,000 for solo stage shows.

A student of Calss VIII of Sacred Heart Convent School, Shraddha would soon be shifting base to Mumbai. Das himself has released two devotional albums with T-Series.

Shraddha has already managed to reach the final five stages with a double promotion in the Tapori round which is all set to be aired tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s episode would see this city youngster compete with the rest with the title track of Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.

“Johnny Lever was present as a guest on the day and he, in particular, encouraged her to keep the momentum going,” said Das.

The format of the programme would soon see the audience decide the fate of the contestants.

“All along she has been my daughter but now she belongs to the entire state, so the onus of seeing her through also rests with the people,” said Das. He admitted that the biggest challenge that her daughter faced in the competition was from Pawni Pandey as Abhrakanti, despite being an excellent singer is undergoing a voice transformation owing to age.

“All the little champs definitely boast of excellent voice quality, so we can definitely expect a tough competition in hand,” added Das, mentioning that her daughter would in all probability complete her education in Mumbai.
