Here's some hope for IIT aspirants who do not have the financial means to chase their dreams.

Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) will hold an entrance examination on June 28 under its CSR scheme, CCL-Ke-Lal, to select 25 boys from humble backgrounds, who will get free coaching, food and lodging facilities to crack IIT-JEE.

According to officials of the CSR wing, exams will be held in Ranchi (DAV Public School, Gandhinagar), Hazaribagh, Dhori, Piparwar and Bokaro between 10am and 1pm.

The last date for submission of the duly filled-up forms is June 20. So far, the coal major has received over 50 applications.

The eligibility criterion for appearing in the entrance examination is 9 CGPA in CBSE X board examination or 85 per cent in Jharkhand board or ICSE board in 2015. "After the 80-marks test that will consist of objective-type questions, we will conduct an interview on the same day," said an executive.

Selection will be made in two groups. Fifteen boys will be selected under Group A that is meant for those residing in areas adjoining CCL collieries while the rest 10 could be anyone from non-CCL background.

Those selected under Group A will be admitted to DAV Gandhinagar in Plus-two and will be offered free coaching, stay and food while the Group B boys will have to arrange their own food and lodging. Only coaching will be free.
