Jamshedpur, Dec. 12: The Bihar-Tripura under-22 match ended in a tame draw at Keenan Stadium today.

Hosts Bihar earned two points by virtue of their first innings lead, while Tripura drew a blank.

Launching their second innings with a 70-run deficit, Tripura openers Rasu Deb Burman and Raj Shekhar Ghosh negotiated the Bihar new ball attack with confidence. The latter was more enterprising, going for some lusty hits early in his innings. The duo added 69 runs in 217 deliveries. Ghosh, who made 61 runs, was the dropped thrice thanks to some sloppy fielding.

Tripura managed to stave off defeat. The visitors were 187/7 when the match was called off after the seventh mandatory over.

Bihar had made 281 in their first innings, against Tripura’s 211. Dutta was the first to exit when he played across to left-armer Ambuj for 28. Wickets fell at regular intervals as Bihar tried hard to make a match of it. However, three dropped catches foiled whatever hopes the hosts had harboured for an outright win. Ghosh was dropped twice by Manish Mandal and once by wicketkeeper SP Gautam.

Bihar skipper Aamir Hashmi was upset by the sloppy fielding of his players and blamed them for letting Tripura escape from defeat.
