Jamshedpur, Feb. 12: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) will award Jharkhand companies implementing IT in their business processes.
At a news conference today, Sanjiv Paul, the chairman of CII (Jharkhand), said small and medium scale companies would be awarded at Enterprise–2008, which would start on February 13 and continue till February 18.
The announcement comes in wake of CII’s latest endeavour to implement IT in small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) across the state.
Officials of Nasscom met SMEs staff here to discuss the course of action to implement IT and also to explain to them how using information technology would help the entrepreneurs in Jharkhand.
“The situation of IT or IT-enabled services in SME sector is bad and if they want to compete with big players, they must incorporate IT at the earliest. Therefore, CII has now taken up the initiative to see to it that all SMEs in the state are IT enabled,” said Paul.
Enterprise would be organised by CII in association with the department of industries, government of Jharkhand, at Gopal Maidan in Bistupur. It is a biennial event in the CII’s calendar and was last organised in 2006.
“This is one of the largest trade fair in the state that will showcase some of the best of large, medium and small industries. It would also give these industries an opportunity for co-operating in business deals and getting into joint ventures. This is happening at such a time when Jharkhand is being looked at as the most sought-after destination by global players,” said Paul, who is also the managing director of Jusco.
A landmark event by all standards, Enterprise would witnesses over 150 companies from Jharkhand and across the nation participating. There would also be participation from industrial bodies such as Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority, Ranchi Industrial Area Development Authority and Bokaro Industrial Area Development Authority.
Jharcraft and District Rural Development Authority from East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan would also participate at Enterprise.
