Jamshedpur: On its centenary year, the Andhra Dramatic Literary Society got a new address along with ADLS Sunshine School it manages.

The reputable school in Sakchi has shifted to its new campus in front of Kadma police station to make room for the expansion of Tata Steel Works.

The new campus was inaugurated on Thursday in the presence of Tata Steel corporate services vice-president Sunil Bhaskaran as the chief guest and Tata Workers' Union president R. Ravi Prasad as the guest of honour. Members of ADLS and the school management committee were also present.

Students also presented a cultural programme.

Classes in the new building will commence after summer vacation.

Set up in 1975, ADLS Sunshine School is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination.

The four-storey building constructed by Tata Steel will have AC rooms for nursery, Lower KG and Upper KG, an e-library for junior students, a separate reference library for students of Class X and XII, an AC multi-purpose hall and smart board in classrooms. The building is also disabled-friendly with proper ramps and washrooms.

Principal Indrani Singh said students with special needs would not face problem.

ADLS Sunshine School, which is an active member of the SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) Club, has put up fire alarm and hydrants across the new building. CCTV cameras has also been installed for better monitoring of the campus.

"The AC pre-primary section will come as a relief for toddlers who find it difficult to concentrate in their studies during summer. Their classroom walls will also have theme-based paintings. The building is spacious and received maximum sunlight, which will also save electricity. Children will definitely enjoy the new building," Singh said.

Students will also get a better playground.

Kerala Samajam Model School in Sakchi will also shift its primary section to a new campus behind NTTF R.D. Tata Technical Institute, about 1.5km away, soon.
