37 new Covid-19 cases reported in Dhanbad during the last 24 hours

The district administration has initiated a process for developing four new containment zones in view of the new infections

As many as 37 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the district during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases to 38. 12 people were also released from the Covid hospital of Dhanbad yesterday evening.

Out of the 37, 25 were reported late on Sunday night at around, while the other 12 were reported on Mody.

Meanwhile, the district administration has initiated a process for developing four new containment zones. Majority of the cases involve migrant workers who are now kept in the isolation ward of Patliputra Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).

Of the 12 positive cases reported on Monday, nine are from Jharia, two from Baghmara and one from Baliapur. Similarly out of 25 cases found on Sunday, 11 were reported from Jharia, seven from Baghmara, four from Dhanbad block and one each from Nirsa, Kaliasol and Govindpur blocks.

Dhanbad sub-divisional officer Amit Kumar said, 'We are identifying the areas where containment zones are to be established. Three containment zones are to be established in view of the 25 cases reported on Sunday, and one containment zone is to be established in view of 12 cases found on Monday.”

Dhanbad deputy commissioner appealed to people to maintain social distancing and other norms.

Altogether 108 cases have been reported from different parts of the district, of which 66 have already been released in phase wise manner including two each on April 27 and May 26; six on May 31; two on June 2; one on June 3; 37 on June 5; four on June 6 and 12 on June 7. Four district cases are located outside Dhanbad.
