Jamshedpur, April 16: Police today arrested two youths in connection with a burglary, which took place in Burmamines on April 11.
The police picked up Ini Baccha alias Irfan and Titu Raja alias Md. Ali from Shastrinagar Block No. 1 in the morning. Two cell phones, a wristwatch and a knife used during the crime were recovered from the possession of the youths.
Raja and Ali had barged into the residential quarters of Sonoko Das, an employee of Tata Steel, on Burma Road in Burmamines on the night of April 11.
The duo robbed Rs 7,000 in cash, a wristwatch and two mobile phones by threatening the family with a knife.
The burglars escaped from the scene after committing the crime. Burmamines police, which had reached the residential quarter after the crime, were on the lookout for the duo, but failed to make any headway.
Superintendent of police Akhilesh Kumar Jha said Raja and Ali were picked from Shastrinagar on a tip-off. The police also interrogated the duo to find out their involvement in other cases.
The two have been forwarded to judicial custody.
