Mumbai, Oct. 4: The Food and Drugs administration in the state has ordered the seizure of a Dairy Milk, a brand of Cadbury’s chocolates, following complaints that worms were found in certain brands of the chocolate.

“The products will be seized from all over the state,” said FDA commissioner Uttam Khobragade. The FDA issued the directive after consumer from Andheri lodged a complaint on finding a worm in a Dairy Milk bar bought in the locality. The product was manufactured from a plant at Talegaon, near Pune.

Cadbury’s issued a statement today saying it had checked the factory samples of this batch and has found them to be of good quality and free of worms. The company reiterated that its products were of good quality. It added that chocolates were susceptible to the presence of worms if they were stored near grains and cereals or in unhygienic conditions.
