Lucknow, Oct. 3: Nawazuddin Siddiqui's youngest sister-in-law has filed a second police complaint in four days against the actor and his three brothers for allegedly torturing her.

Afreen Begum, 23, has claimed in her complaint with Muzaffarnagar police that the actor kicked her in her belly "to kill my unborn baby" on September 28 and asked her to leave the house.

The actor today denied the allegations and claimed Afreen and her uncle had forcefully taken gold ornaments and cash after they were refused Rs 15,000 and fled the house.

In the complaint filed yesterday, Afreen alleged: "Nawazuddin tried to kill my unborn baby by kicking on my belly with his leg.

"Nawazuddin and his brothers Merazuddin, Faizuddin and Minazuddin came to my room along with their sister Saima on September 28 night and asked me to leave the house immediately. They started beating me when I refused to leave the house."

Afreen also alleged that her husband Minazuddin, 25, and her in-laws had long been misbehaving with her for dowry. She has sought quick action against the actor, his brothers and other family members.

Yesterday, she met Rakesh Kumar Jolly, the superintendent of police of Muzaffarnagar Rural, along with father Merazuddin Siddiqui, mother Shaista Parveen and uncle Riyazuddin. Her first complaint was filed with Budhana police on September 29.

Afreen, who is from Jafrabad area of East Delhi, married Minazuddin on May 31 this year. Minazuddin lives in Kaziwara locality of Budhana town in Muzaffarnagar district, about 560km from Lucknow. Budhana is the ancestral town of Nawazuddin who is the second of four brothers.

The actor had been in Budhana since September 26 but left for Delhi on September 29. After returning home today, he claimed at a media conference in Muzaffarnagar that the allegations against him were false.

Nawazuddin also showed CCTV footage of the night of September 28 to claim he was innocent. Afreen had yesterday told SP Jolly that the CCTV was apparently disconnected when the brothers were beating her.

"I didn't come out in public initially because I thought the family elders would resolve the dispute. I was also avoiding controversy," the actor said.

A cop in Lucknow said on condition of anonymity that the police had not taken Afreen's first complaint seriously.

"Nawazuddin is the brand ambassador of Samajwadi Kisan Beema Yojana, a farmers' crop insurance scheme. We thought it was a family dispute and they would resolve it on their own," he said.

"But Afreen, along with her parents, met the SP yesterday and sought action against her in-laws, including the actor. Now we have handed the case to an officer and will move forward as soon as he gives a report."

Afreen has also claimed that the alleged attack on her could be confirmed from neighbours who had gathered around the house when they got wind that something unpleasant was happening inside.

She also told the SP that Nawazuddin boasts of his contacts with Akhilesh Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal, the chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi respectively.

D.K. Thakur, the investigating officer, said: "We got the CCTV footage today and will analyse it."

Faizuddin, one of Afreen's brothers-in-law, yesterday filed a police complaint that she, along with uncle Riyazuddin and aunty Shabbo Begum, had visited the Budhana house on September 28 and demanded Rs 15,000 from her husband. When he refused, they apparently forcefully took away jewellery and cash from their almirah.

"It is to be seen whether the complaints are the result of some minor family dispute or something more serious," said SP Jolly.

In January this year, Nawazuddin was booked by Mumbai police for allegedly assaulting a woman over a parking dispute in his residential society.
