Patna, Nov. 11 :     Sharad Yadav has run into trouble within the Janata Dal (United) in Bihar over the induction of a leader from Jagannath Mishra?s Bihar Jan Congress. JD(U) leaders feel newcomer Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav will soon try to grab the state party president?s post. JD(U) Legislative Party chief Ganesh Yadav called for an emergency meeting of the party?s national executive to discuss the entry of the former MP from Ara, labelled a political ?opportunist? by several JD(U) leaders. ?On poll-eve, the party should steer clear of controversy and entry of any controversial leader may harm the party?s prospects in the Assembly polls,? Ganesh Yadav told reporters. Ram Lakhan was former Union minister for agriculture. His critics charge him with corruption, saying his son had been detained in connection with the urea scam by the CBI. Ganesh Yadav gave a 15-day deadline to the party leadership to reconsider the decision. ?If Ram Lakhan is not ousted from the JD(U) within a fortnight, I will be free to chart out an action plan,? he threatened. Although Sharad Yadav has been supported by party colleague Ram Vilas Paswan on the issue, Samata Party leader Nitish Kumar?s camp was clearly unhappy. ?We have been fighting corruption, an issue on which we developed differences with Laloo Prasad Yadav and parted company with him. If we compromise on this issue, this will not augur well with the JD(U)?s future,? Ganesh Yadav said. To step up the heat more on Sharad Yadav, the state JD(U) demanded that the party chief forego one of his posts since he is now also a Union minister. ?He should act in deference to JD(U) resolutions which have adopted ?the one-man-one-post norm?,? Ganesh Yadav said.
