Bhubaneswar, Oct. 30: The Orissa Assembly today erupted over the alleged rape and murder of a Class VI girl in Chandrasekharpur DAV public school by some senior students of the school. The incident is reported to have occurred on September 5.

“It is surely a serious matter as it has occurred inside an educational institution. The police are trying to hush up the matter since the boys involved in the crime were sons of a few bureaucrats,” alleged Ramakanta Mishra, Congress member and leader of the Opposition, during zero hour. Although the Speaker asked chief minister Naveen Patnaik to make a statement on the matter, till this evening, there was no statement.
