Calcutta, June 6: Eastern Railway has issued guidelines for passengers following changes in the timing, route and number of the Rajdhani Express leaving Howrah on Sundays.
The departure time of the train, which will now run via Patna, has been changed from 5 pm to 1.35 pm, and passengers have been asked to ignore the time printed on their tickets. The number has also been changed from 2301 Up to 2305 Up.
Those who have booked tickets for journeys on Sundays — from June 8 to July 6 — have been given the option of travelling by the re-routed train or claiming a full refund of fare from any computerised railway reservation office.
Passengers who wish to travel by the new train have been advised to reach the station early and check the reservation list in which the old PNR number will be displayed along with the new PNR number. According to a railway release, berths have also been re-allotted and information on this can be obtained from any computerised reservation office.
As the new route is longer, passengers travelling on the re-routed train will have to pay the difference in fare to ticket checking staff during their journey.
Passengers who have booked berths from Dhanbad and Gaya will be accommodated from Madhupur and Patna, respectively.
