New Delhi, May 9 (PTI): Urmila Mishra, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s sister, died at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences today. She was 72.

Urmila was suffering from cancer and had been brought here from Gwalior on April 28 for treatment.

She is survived by her husband P.M. Mishra, two daughters and three sons, including Anup Mishra, BJP MLA in Madhya Pradesh.

Mortal remains of Urmila Mishra were consigned to flames at Laxmi Ganj crematorium in her hometown Gwalior tonight. Earlier, her body was brought in a procession from her sindhi colony residence.

Urmila's husband, P.M. Mishra lit the funeral pyre in the presence of a large number of mourners, including Vajpayee who came here with his sister's body this evening.
