Student dead
• New York, May 20 (PTI): A 20-year-old Indian-origin Cornell University student was found dead here after going missing since Wednesday.
The body of Aalaap Narasipura, a senior electrical engineering student, was recovered from Fall Creek, a short distance upstream from Ithaca Falls on Friday. Police said the circumstances of Narasipura's death are still under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
Guruvayur
• Guruvayur (PTI): The Sri Krishna temple in Kerala has received a call threatening to "destroy" it, following which its security has been stepped up. The temple officials received the call from a person who alleged that there was corruption in the temple's administration, police said.
Airport snake
• Hyderabad (PTI): A six-feet-long snake entered into the aircraft parking area at the Hyderabad Airport on Friday. Wildlife officials were called to the airport to capture the serpent, an official said. The presence of the snake created commotion for quite some time.
Kundra bail
• Thane (PTI): A Thane court on Saturday granted anticipatory bail to actress Shilpa Shetty, her businessman husband Raj Kundra and three others in a cheating case filed by a textile firm owner. The court had earlier granted the accused interim protection from arrest.
Pak 'agent'
• Jaipur (PTI): A suspected agent of Pakistan's ISI has been detained by the intelligence wing of Rajasthan police from Jaisalmer district and some documents have been recovered from his possession. Hazi Khan, 55, was detained from Jaisalmer and is being interrogated in Jodhpur, police said.
Africa drive
• New Delhi (PTI): The Delhi University has extended online registration deadline for African students from April 20 to May 31. The move aims to enrol more African students. So far, the varsity has received over 300 applications from African nationals, the university said in a statement.
