The doctor said he found the incident 'a little funny' and did not report it to police as the youths had not harmed him.

Gadre had been staying at the YMCA guest house near Jantar Mantar. 'I was taking a morning walk around 6am near the YMCA when a group of youths confronted me and asked me to chant Jai Shri Ram. As I was taken aback, I just said it. However, they insisted that I chant it loudly and asked me: `Uncle, are you not a Hindu?'' Gadre said.
