New Delhi, Mar 1 (PTI): Delhi Police on Tuesday filed a charge sheet in a court against R.K. Pachauri, the TERI executive vice-chairman now on leave, for alleged sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of a woman colleague who has since quit.
Pachauri has also been accused of stalking and criminally intimidating the victim, a co-worker then at The Energy & Resources Instiute, with gesture or act intended to insult her modesty.
The charge sheet, running into over 1400 pages, was filed in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shivani Chauhan, who has fixed it for consideration on April 23.
Police has arrayed 23 prosecution witnesses, many of whom are present and former employees of TERI.
The police, in its report filed in the Delhi High Court recently, had said that an out-of-court settlement was proposed to the victim.
The status report was filed in the matter, in which the victim has sought quashing of anticipatory bail of Pachauri granted by the trial court in the case.
Pachauri was granted an anticipatory bail in the case on March 21, last year.
On February 13, last year an FIR was registered against Pachauri on charges of sexual harassment under IPC sections 354, 354(a), 354(d) (molestation) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
