Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Baghel performs Bhoomipujan of Water Augmentation Scheme

The policy, which is estimated to cost around Rs 44.50 crore, will be completed in 27 months and will provide clean drinking water to 3,200 houses in Mana Camp

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel performed the Bhoomipujan of the Water Augmentation Scheme (Jal Avardhan Yojana) of Mana Camp Nagar Panchayat during his Bhent-Mulaqat programme in Raipur Rural Assembly Constituency on Tuesday.

The scheme, which is estimated to cost around Rs 44.50 crore, will be completed in 27 months and will provide clean drinking water to 3,200 houses in Mana Camp. Besides, Chief Minister announced to name the new college to be opened in Mana Camp after Smt. Indira Gandhi.

In his address to the gathering, the Chief Minister said "Completion of this scheme will ensure the proper supply of drinking water to all households, with special benefits for women. Mana Camp was established by Indira Ji, and since then, the area has been continuously developing and progressing."

He further stated that the people of Mana camp have an emotional attachment to Indira Gandhi, and in response to their demand to keep her name memorable, he announced that the new college to be opened in the area would be named Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi College. He expressed his happiness that there would be a college named after Indira Ji in the Mana Camp established by her.

Under the scheme, a total of two new overhead tanks will be built in Mana camp, and approximately 65,000-meter pipeline will be laid here. Upon the completion of the scheme, the dependency of the area residents on groundwater sources will reduce, and water will be supplied from Municipal Corporation Raipur.

Raipur Rural MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar District Cooperative Central Bank Raipur Chairman Pankaj Sharma, along with other public representatives and dignitaries, were present on the occasion.
