June 25 (PTI): Muslim League chief G.M. Banatwala, the national face of the minority community and a seven-time Lok Sabha MP from Kerala, died in Mumbai today after a brief illness. He was 74.

A gifted parliamentarian and orator, Banatwala, a widower with no children, espoused the cause of Muslims on issues like the Shah Bano case, the Babri Masjid demolition and personal law.
