The gamer

It doesn’t take much for a date to go from good to nightmare or from awkward to the best, especially if it is on the stressful Valentine’s Day. Here are some tips to avoid the first and move towards the second.
(Psst: We have something for the singletons too!)
A relationship is about two people. You might be hugely enthusiastic about V-Day, but don’t always expect your partner to share your enthusiasm. Once you understand that and make arrangements accordingly, you’ll sail smooth.
Again, just because you think V-Day is stupid doesn’t mean you refuse to acknowledge its existence or simply forget about it. One chocolate and a little effort won’t do you harm.
If you’re celebrating your first V-Day with your partner, avoid buying overtly expensive gifts from Jack & Jones or Vero Moda. You never know how long the relationship will last.
There will be lovey-dovey couples going for lunches and dinner. So, if you’re planning to go somewhere fancy, make sure you make prior reservations. Waiting in a long queue is no one’s idea of a memorable date.
Don’t go overboard while making plans with your partner. Keep in mind, you will be expected to top that the following year. You know what they say about digging your own grave.
If you are single or just had a break-up...
Watching Romedy Now, or any other movie channel for that matter, is a strict no. It’s February 14 and nine out of 10 channels will be showing romcoms, so unless you want to end your day depressed and teary, stick to news or sports.
In case you have made drinking plans with friends on the day, hand over your phone to a friend before hitting your third peg. Drunk dialling your ex on V-Day is a common disease. Avoid this at all cost unless you really want to wake up red-faced the next day.
