Stop piracy, buy original. That’s the message Team Royal Bengal Rahasya sent out at the film’s DVD launch on Tuesday evening.

“Please buy original DVDs. There’s a special bonus in this DVD because you can watch the making too,” said director Sandip Ray, adding that Royal Bengal Rahasya has done “really well” at the box office. “None of the other Feluda films was released on such a wide scale... in over 80 halls. I was a bit apprehensive but it has worked,” he said.

On a high post-Royal Bengal, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty has reconsidered his decision to hang up his Feluda boots. “If Sandip Ray attempts another Feluda, then I might be courageous enough to take the plunge again!” he said.

Mahendra Soni of Shree Venkatesh Films, which has co-produced Royal Bengal with Surinder Films, is gung-ho about the film’s 11-week run. “The success of Royal Bengal has made us very confident. Thrillers do work as far as Bengali films are concerned and we will soon start the Kakababu film, which is our next big project. The budget of Royal Bengal was Rs 2.25 crore. We will break even soon. It should do a gross business of close to Rs 3 crore,” said Soni.
