Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam trailer: Abhisek Kumar experiences comical misadventures Panchayat’s Tamil remake

Abishek Kumar’s Sidharth experiences comical misadventures after arriving at an isolated village as its Panchayat secretary in the trailer of the comedy series Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, the Tamil adaptation of Prime Video’s Panchayat dropped on Friday.

Slated to release on Prime Video on September 20, the two-minute-14-second trailer shows Sidharth, a Chennai engineering graduate, reluctantly taking up the post of Panchayat secretary in the village of Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, only to discover village life’s stark contrast to his urban upbringing. He struggles to adapt to the village’s quirky way and finds himself entangled in a series of comical misadventures.

“The comedy-drama series follows Sidharth (Abishek Kumar), an engineering graduate from Chennai, who reluctantly takes on a job far outside his comfort zone as a secretary in the remote village of Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam. As he navigates the quirks of rural life and its eccentric villagers, he finds himself caught up in a comedy of errors full of twists and turns,” reads the show’s official synopsis on IMDb.

The eight-episode series, produced by The Viral Fever (TVF), also stars Chetan Kadambi, Devadarshini, Niyathi, Anand Sami and Paul Raj in key roles.

Panchayat, which has three seasons on Prime Video, follows a similar plot where the protagonist played by Jitendra Kumar finds his dreams of pursuing MBA shattered as he unexpectedly becomes a panchayat secretary in the fictional village of Phulera in Uttar Pradesh. The Hindi comedy series also stars Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Sanvikaa and Durgesh Kumar.
