Indraadip Dasgupta returns to the director’s chair with Grihapravesh, a family drama set to release in theatres on June 13. Featuring Subhashree Ganguly in the lead role, the film also stars Kaushik Ganguly, Sohini Sengupta, Jeetu Kamal and Rudranil Ghosh in key roles.
The trailer for Grihapravesh, unveiled on Friday, revolves around Titli (Subhashree), a woman abandoned by her husband the morning after their wedding. Left to live with her in-laws, she fulfills her responsibilities with silent resilience. Kaushik Ganguly and Sohini Sengupta portray the ageing in-laws, whose emotional dependence on their daughter-in-law deepens over time.
However, their life is thrown into an upheaval with the arrival of a paying guest in the house. Meghdoot (Jeetu Kamal) slowly forms a bond with Titli, and they eventually want to settle down with each other. However, Meghdoot harbours a secret of his own.
Grihapravesh marks Dasgupta’s fifth directorial venture. He also serves as the film’s writer and music composer, with screenplay and dialogues penned by Samragnee Bandopadhyay.
Subhashree was last seen in Raj Chakrabarty’s family drama Shontaan.
