Actress Sonam Kapoor shared her first photo with her newborn on Friday on social media, following the birth of the baby boy on March 29.

The photo shared on Instagram features Sonam cradling her baby in her arms at the hospital bed as a ray of sunlight falls on both mother and newborn. Another photo in the carousel shows Sonam enjoying a meal.

Acknowledging the exceptional care she received, Sonam thanked her medical team and said, “Thank you for being such thorough professionals and for going beyond that with your gentleness, empathy, and genuine care. It’s not always something one expects in a hospital, but it absolutely should be, and it made this experience so meaningful.”

Father Anil Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, sister Rhea Kapoor and mother Sunita Kapoor reacted to the post with heart emoticons.

Sonam and Anand tied the knot in an intimate Punjabi ceremony in May 2018. They welcomed their first child, Vayu, in 2022. Since then, Sonam has been on a break from films but continues to make appearances at public events and social gatherings.

Sonam had earlier announced her second pregnancy through a series of photos on Instagram. In the post, she was seen in a hot-pink wool suit inspired by the style of Princess Diana, captioned ‘MOTHER’.

On the professional front, Sonam made her acting debut with Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in 2007. She has since featured in films such as Delhi 6, Aisha, Raanjhanaa, Khoobsurat, Dolly Ki Doli and Veere Di Wedding. She was last seen in the crime thriller Blind (2023).
