Anjana Padmanabhan

Age: 10

Strengths: Classical songs and soft numbers.

Wow moments: Judge Vishal Dadlani was awestruck with her performance in the first episode of the gala round when the Bangalore girl sang Kyon from Barfi! with her celebrity singing partner Papon. “Whenever I listen to you, you cement your place as one of the best child singers I have ever heard in my life.Truly wonderful!,” said Vishal.

Know more: Anjana is learning Hindustani classical music for the last three months and has trained in Carnatic music for a year. She cannot speak Hindi but learns the lyrics by heart!

Why she should win: For her versatility and diligence. And her crackling stage presence.

Debanjana Karmakar

Age: 13

Strengths: Like Anjana, Debanjana excels in classical and soft romantic numbers.

Wow moment: At the audition, the ever-smiling girl from West Midnapore moved judge Shreya Ghoshal to tears while Vishal told Debanjana that she reminded them of Lata Mangeshkar — for her singing and her two plaits.

Know more: Debanjana was trained in classical singing by her dad since she was four and has been trained formally from age 10.

Why she should win: Her easy charm and superior voice quality.

Sonakshi Kar

Age: 13

Strengths: Initially stage conscious, Sonakshi has now grown into a confident performer.

Wow moment: Govinda, a celebrity guest, was seen crying when the Calcutta girl sang the title track of Ram Teri Ganga Maili.

Know more: Also called Sonu and Manna, Sonakshi always carries a sling bag when she sings on stage. She wants to become a playback singer.

Why she should win: Has shown the maximum improvement in the course of the show. Plus, is the cutest of the lot!

Nirvesh Dave

Age: 14

Strengths: His versatility. Also, sings fast-paced and peppy folk numbers very well.

Wow moment: The Ahmedabad boy’s best moment on Idol came when he sang Shubhaarambh from Kai Po Che! with singer Shruti Pathak. Judge Shekhar hailed him as the pride of Gujarat.

Know more: Nirvesh has sung for five Gujarati films and even cut his own album.

Why he should win: The innocence in his voice shines through. Also, that smile is a killer!

Anmol Jaswal

Age: 14

Strengths: Good voice modulation and pitching.

Wow moment: Vishal hugged Anmol and lifted him in his arms when he sang Be intehaan from Race 2. The best comment for Anmol on the show came from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, a guest judge. “You are not an Indian Idol junior but an Indian Idol!”

Know more: Anmol does local music shows in his hometown Jammu and has also received a ‘Jammu Star’ award.

Why he should win: The genuine ability to make every song his own.

Sugandha Date

Age: 8

Strengths: The Nagpur girl is the youngest of the lot. Her singing has a certain innocence and she doesn’t try too hard to do anything beyond her age.

Wow moment: “I am a big fan of your voice. I can’t even imagine that someone of your age can sing with so much confidence and sweetness,” Shreya Ghoshal told her.

Know more: Sugandha was eliminated in the theatre round but came back as a wild-card entrant in the first episode of the gala round.

Why she should win: Her ability and poise given her age.
