There’s nothing like hearty Punjabi fare when the temperature starts creeping south. Now is the time to throw caution to the cool wind and sit down to some Makki Di Roti, Sarson Da Saag and Tangri Kebab, all to be washed down with Meethi Lassi with generous doses of kesar.
The ongoing food festival at Swissotel gives you all that and more, with chef Gurmeet Singh bringing his recipes from the interiors of Punjab. They’re also almost all his own favourite food. #perksofbeingachef
“I have tried to keep the menu as authentic as possible. Through this festival, I would like Calcuttans to get a taste of traditional Punjabi food,” said the chef.
True to his words, on his curated Punjabi menu is fare that conjures up a scenic imagery of Punjab — mustard fields a la DDLJ to charpoys on a dhaba courtyard. Think Amritsari and Keema Kulchas, Lauki Kofta, Amritsari Chhole, Machchhi Amritsari and Gosht Rahra. t2 went on a taste trail.
